Raquel Vengroff
Graduate Student

Raquel Vengroff primarily works in the areas of metaethics, aesthetics, and moral psychology. She is concerned with unconventional methods of knowledge acquisition. For the culmination of her Master’s degree, she wrote her thesis on the phenomena of moral advice and why it should be considered a sui generis speech act. Currently, Raquel is attending to questions on the educational power of literature and its ability to garner novel emotional experiences in readers. At its heart, Raquel’s work is purposefully and proudly interdisciplinary. When she is not philosophizing, Raquel can be caught antique (window) shopping, reading plotless fiction, or sunbathing with her cats, Luna and Bowie.
Before attending Northwestern, Raquel received her BA with a double specialization in English Literature and Philosophy from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). In 2023, she received her MA in Philosophy, as well, from TMU.
