Brady Program in Ethics and Civic Life
For the community service project undertaken by this year’s senior class, our students established a volunteer program connecting Northwestern and the Moran Center for Youth Advocacy in Evanston. The Center provides low-income Evanston youth and their families with integrated legal and social work services. In May 2022, we sponsored a two-day conference on the theme, “Reinventing American Democracy.” Our keynote speaker was Professor Danielle Allen, the Director of the Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University, and the author of works on punishment, democratic theory, racial divides, the Declaration of Independence, and the COVID pandemic. On the second day of the conference, alumni joined with current students, graduate mentors, faculty and our founder, Debbie Brady, to discuss the values, ambitions, and history of the Program.
