This has been a very exciting year, full of new developments and initiatives. As you will read in this Newsletter, in addition to the outstanding achievements of our students and faculty, the department is growing even stronger with the promotion of Dr. Corey Barnes and Dr. Peter van Elswyk to the rank of Associate Professor with Tenure.
This last year, the Chicago Area Consortium in German Philosophy had two major events, while NUSTEP hosted its 17th annual conference.
PhilFEST is the highlight of our undergraduate community’s life in which honors students present their research in 15-20 minute presentations followed by a public Q&A. This year, an audience of almost 50 persons – faculty from inside and outside the department, students, and interested listeners at large - engaged with and vibrantly discussed our students’ fascinating series of presentations about their research results.
